Montgomery College's Office of Library and Academic Services brings together academic coaching, tutoring, research support, and testing services into one integrated network designed to help students succeed at every stage of their journey. By meeting students wherever they are and connecting them to the right resources at the right time, Academic Services strengthens retention, improves course completion, and empowers students to excel in their coursework and careers.

The Office of Library and Academic Services provides leadership for:

Assessment and Testing Centers new window

Provide a secure and accessible environment for academic testing and proctoring services, in person and online. The Centers also offer support for new students who need to complete the English Placement process, and Math Placement testing. The Assessment and Testing Centers are dedicated to ensuring accessible, secure, and equitable testing for all students, working closely with Disability Support Services to provide accommodations and maintaining clear identification requirements and priority scheduling policies for students who need them.

Achieving the Promise Academy (ATPA) new window

MC's academic coaching program helps students build on their strengths, improve where needed, and reach their full potential. Students are accepted on a rolling basis and receive personalized coaching in time management, study skills, and academic success, with drop-in coaching also available throughout the week via Starfish or the ATPA website.

Learning Centers new window

Serve as the central hub for the College's free academic support services. Tutoring, study tools, technology, and other academic resources are available to help students build skills, boost confidence, and stay on track academically. Support is organized by discipline-specific centers by subject (including business, health sciences, math, science, humanities/social sciences, and writing/reading/world languages), digital literacy skills, and by campus location. Virtual tutoring options are also available for online support and after-hours help.

MC Library's services and resources are organized into four core areas: Research (research guides, e-resources, librarian assistance, tutorials and quizzes), Borrowing (checking out items, course reserves, renewals, and fines), Technology and Study Spaces (study room reservations and disability access), and Faculty Support (library instruction requests, e-textbook adoption, and course integration tools. Additionally, a curated collection of textbooks and course reserves are available in support of academic programs and textbook affordability.
