STEPHEN SONDHEIM (1930-2021) wrote the music and lyrics for Saturday Night (1954), A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum (1962), Anyone Can Whistle (1964), Company (1970), Follies (1971), A Little Night Music (1973), The Frogs (1974), Pacific Overtures (1976), Sweeney Todd (1979), Merrily We Roll Along (1981), Sunday In The Park With George (1984), Into The Woods (1987), Assassins (1991), Passion (1994), Road Show (2008) and HERE WE ARE (2023), as well as the lyrics for West Side Story (1957), Gypsy (1959), Do I Hear A Waltz? (1965) and additional lyrics for Candide (1973). Side By Side By Sondheim (1976), Marry Me A Little (1981), You’re Gonna Love Tomorrow (1983), Putting It Together (1993/99), Moving On (2001), Sondheim On Sondheim (2010) and Old Friends (2023) are anthologies of his work as composer and lyricist. For films, he composed the scores of “Stavisky” (1974), co-composed the score for “Reds” (1981), and wrote songs for “Dick Tracy” (1990). He wrote songs for the television production “Evening Primrose” (1966), co-authored the film “The Last of Sheila” (1973) and the play Getting Away With Murder (1996) and provided incidental music for the plays The Girls of Summer (1956), Invitation To A March (1961), Twigs (1971) and The Enclave (1973).
He won the Tony Award for Best Score for Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, and Passion, all of which won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award, as did Pacific Overtures and Sunday In The Park With George, the latter also receiving the Pulitzer Prize for Drama (1985).
Stephen Sondheim was born and raised in New York City. He graduated from Williams College, winning the Hutchinson Prize for Music Composition, after which he studied theory and composition with Milton Babbitt. He served on the Council of the Dramatists Guild, the national association of playwrights, composers and lyricists, and served as its president from 1973 to 1981. In 1983 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters and in 1990 was appointed the first Visiting Professor of Contemporary Theatre at Oxford University. He was awarded the Kennedy Center Honors in 1993, the National Medal of Arts in 1996, the MacDowell Medal in 2013 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2015. His collected lyrics with attendant essays have been published in two volumes: "Finishing the Hat" (2010) and "Look, I Made a Hat" (2011).
In 2010 the Broadway theater formerly known as Henry Miller's Theatre was renamed in his honor, and in 2019 he became the first living artist to have a theatre named in his honor on Shaftesbury Avenue when the refurbished Queen’s Theatre in London’s West End was renamed the Sondheim Theatre to commemorate his 90th birthday, by Sir Cameron Mackintosh.
JAMES LAPINE is a playwright and director. On Broadway he has worked with Stephen Sondheim on Sunday in the Park with George; Into the Woods; and Passion. He also conceived and directed the musical review Sondheim on Sondheim. With William Finn he created Falsettos recently revived by Lincoln Center Theater; Little Miss Sunshine; Muscle; and directed Finn's The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Other Broadway credits include his play based on Moss Hart's memoir Act One (also LCT), Amour, The Diary of Anne Frank, Golden Child, and Dirty Blonde. He has written the plays Table Settings, Twelve Dreams, The Moment When, Fran's Bed and Mrs. Miller Does Her Thing. Lapine has been nominated for eleven Tony Awards, winning on three occasions. He has also been the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize, SDC's Mr. Abbott Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theater, and inducted into the Theater Hall of Fame.
Daniel Schlegel (The Baker) (He/him) is an actor who studies musical theatre at CUA. Credits: Freaky Friday (Grandpa/Blumen/O'Brien), The Winter's Tale (Shepherd) and The Sound of Music (Admiral Von Schreiber) at CUA, and Les Miserables (Jean Valjean), The Fantasticks (El Gallo/Narrator), Sweeney Todd (Beadle Bamford), and Into the Woods (Narrator/Mysterious Man) at The Hill School. He'd like to thank Tracy and all his fellow CUA friends, as well as his parents for their endless love and support.
Sophie Indiana Fischer (Baker’s Wife) is so happy to be a part of this wonderful production!! She is an rising Senior at
American University, studying Musical Theatre. Past credits include Two "Gentleman"
of Verona (Outlaw, Assistant Music Director) and A Game of Love and Chance (All Parts)
at AU and Much Ado About Nothing (Beatrice) at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic
Arts. Sophie would like to thank her friends, her family, her partner, Max, and the
entire cast and crew of this fabulous show!
Isabel Pierce (Cinderella) (she/her) is a rising junior majoring in musical theatre at Catholic University of
America. Most recently at CUA, she has been in: Quilters (Woman #4/Co-Dance Captain),
Jesus Christ Superstar (Ensemble), and Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812
(Ensemble). She is unbelievably grateful to be in this show working with such a loving
cast and production team!
Victoria Tejada (Little Red Riding Hood) is honored to be working with Summer Dinner Theater this summer. She is excited to
be part of this talented cast and grateful for this opportunity. She would like to
thank her family, friends and everyone who has supported her in this journey.
Kameron Sturdivant (Jack) is currently a rising sophomore at Nazareth University. Where he is getting his BFA

Josh Flitter (Narrator and Mysterious Man) is thrilled to return to the Summer Dinner Theatre program, taking on the roles of
the Narrator and Mysterious Man. Last year, he took to the stage as Inspector Kemp
in the SDT production of Young Frankenstein and hopes to continue entertaining with
his vibrant and comedic character work. He'd like to thank the friends and mentors
he has gained at Montgomery College, who continue to encourage him in his exploration
of the world of theatre.
Scarlett Spano (Witch) is Musical Theatre Major at Catholic University from Mclean, Virginia. She has previously
been seen in Catholic University's production of Freaky Friday (Grandma Helene/others)
and CUA Centerstage’s The Little Mermaid (Ursula). Assistant Direction credits include
The Rivals (dir. Eleanor Holdridge) Jesus Christ Superstar (dir. Jay D. Brock) and
Hard Luck Cafe (dir. Jay D. Brock). Stage management credits include Dialogue of the
Carmelites (Catholic University), Bright Star (Catholic University). Assistant stage
management credits include Something Rotten! (Young Artists of America), The Lion
King Jr (Young Artists of America), The Comedy of Errors (PG County Parks and Recreation’s

Julia Feller (Rapunzel) is a recent graduate from the University of Maryland with a degree in Elementary Education.
She is thrilled to be in her third production with MC’s Summer Dinner Theater with
such a beautiful, talented cast in one of her favorite musicals of all time. Some
of her favorite credits include Cabaret (Frenchie), In the Heights (Nina u/s, Ensemble),
The Addams Family (Wednesday), The Prom (Angie u/s, Ensemble), Hairspray (Tracy),
and The Lion King (Nala). She was also one of the assistant music directors for UMD’s
2025 production of She Loves Me. Beyond the stage, she loves concerts, arts and crafts,
and is currently obsessed with the show "Off Campus". She is grateful to her family,
friends, castmates, and directors for their ongoing support. Enjoy the show!
MacArthur Maryn (Rapunzel's Prince, Baker U/S, Narrator/Mysterious Man U/S) (He/Him) is a rising sophomore Theatre Performance major at Wagner College in New
York City. Credits include: Cabaret (Emcee), You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Snoopy),
and Footloose (Ensemble). He would like to thank his parents and brother for all their
love and support in his dreams.
Connor James Halvorsen-Ramm (Cinderella’s Prince) is agonizingly excited for you to see the show! He has just graduated from Montgomery
College, and has been apart of SDT since 2022. Credits: Monster (Young Frankenstein),
Ernst Ludwig (Cabaret), Tommy/Ensemble (In The Heights), Sheldon Sapperstein (The
Prom) and Robin/Troupe (Something Rotten). He had the honor of performing at CFG Bank
Arena for a crowd of 13,000 as a member of Andrea Bocelli’s choir. Connor is a classically
trained Bass-Baritone, singing often in German, French and Italian. In addition to
the show he’s a full-time preschool teacher in DC, and will be attending Towson University
in the fall.
Ceci Smith (Florinda) (she/her) is a rising sophomore at the Catholic University of America, majoring in
musical theater. Most recently she has been in Please Stand By (Helene), an original
student production at CUA. She would like to thank the entire SDT team for this incredible
opportunity and community, to thank her teachers and mentors, and to thank her family
for their endless support. Enjoy the show!
Cynthia Momanyi (Lucinda) is excited to return to Into the Woods—this time as Lucinda, after previously playing
Little Red Riding Hood. Recent credits include Liesl in The Sound of Music, Crystal/Choreographer
in Little Shop of Horrors, and various dancers, understudies, and chaotic ensemble
members in productions with Young Artists of America. When not onstage, Cynthia can
usually be found listening to music, learning choreography, or getting far too emotionally
invested in fictional characters. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Julian Bradford (Cinderella's Father) (He/him) is an autistic actor/musician who is breaking through barriers in the arts
community. He spent the last 2 years simultaneously attending MCPS non diploma certificate
program and the Montgomery College Music Certificate Program for credit. This is an
entirely unique endeavor. Recipient of the Kodi Lee Gives Back Grant. Credits: Les
Mis (Jean Valjean) at WJ Stage/Walter Johnson HS.He would like to thank his parents
for their dedication and support.
Margot Cohen (Jack’s Mother/Cinderella’s Mother/Baker’s Wife Understudy) (she/her) is delighted to take part in her first production with Summer Dinner Theatre!
Previous credits include: Ugly Duckling/Fiona Understudy in Shrek the Musical (McLean
Community Players), Chloe Valentine in Be More Chill (RMT), Penelope Pennywise in
Urinetown as well as Kate Monster/Lucy the Slut in Avenue Q (Ovations Theatre). She
first would like to thank her friends, family & boyfriend Jake for all of their support
as well as the production team and her fellow cast mates. She hopes that you enjoy
the show!
Augusto Garcia (Wolf) is very excited to perform in his second year at summer dinner theatre. He’s performed
in shows like Grease, Lightning Thief, and Young Frankenstein. He’d like to thank
Jarrel Crowder for always supporting him through his journey.
Wren Pederson (Cinderella’s Stepmother/Giant) is elated to be working on her first SDT show. She would like to thank everyone who
supports her and everyone who doesn’t.
Michael Lawrence (Steward) is so excited to work on summer dinner theatre for the first time! He just performed
on the main stage at montgomery college in Percy jackson lightning thief and cant
wait to perform as the Steward in Into the Woods.
Brenda Molley (Ensemble, Cinderella and Rapunzel Understudy) (she/her) is excited to be making her SDT debut! Credits: No Body To Murder (Mrs.
McGarragher), Midsummer(ish) (Puck), 21 Chump Street (Ensemble), Mean Girls (Karen
Smith) at Springbrook High School. She would like to thank her father for reminding
her to stay true to herself.
Zakaiya Purnell (Granny/Ensemble) is thrilled to be making her debut with Summer Dinner Theatre and her musical theatre
debut in this production. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Acting at Howard University,
where she has appeared in more than nine student short films. Zakaiya has also trained
at Zak Barnett Studios in Los Angeles, California, further developing her passion
for both stage and screen performance. A lifelong dreamer with a deep love for the
arts, she is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to bring this character to life
and to share the stage with such a talented cast. Originally from Ellicott City, Maryland,
Zakaiya looks forward to continuing her artistic journey in theatre, film, and beyond.
Dan (Ensemble) is glad to be back with SDT partaking in a wonderful show amongst many wonderful
people. He is happy to be surrounded by so many loving and talented people within
the show!

Camille Emmeline Stokes (Properties Intern) is thrilled to be a part of her first theatre production! Camille is a traditional
artist outside of theatre and wanted to branch out and try her hand at props fabrication
and management. The Summer Dinner Theatre staff are incredibly welcoming and very
eager to help, she really enjoyed getting to know and work with everyone here. Camille
would like to thank her family and friends for pushing her out of her comfort zone,
and supporting her through this journey. She would also like to thank her cat lola
for being a sparkle princess cutie pie, and letting Camille pet her after a long day
at the theatre.
Elisa Manning (Assistant Choreographer) is very excited that she got to work on this production of Anything Goes! She is
a rising senior studying Musical Theatre and Studio Art at American University. Previously,
she has been in productions such as Two Gentlemen of Verona (Crab, Lucetta u/s), 9
to 5 (Maria), and Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes the Sea (Midi). Elisa wants to thank
her friends and family for supporting all her theatre endeavors!
Atles Moritz (Sound Intern) (They/Them) is an intern over the summer, who is currently a student at Montgomery
College. While here thier credits include: Failure, Lightning Thief, Spotlights (Soundboard
Operator), And So… (Assistant Stage Manager), Pluto (Stage Manager & Sound Designer).
I'd love to thank SDT for giving me this wonderful opportunity and my Parents and
Auntie for getting me to go for my dreams.
Allison Howlett (Assistant Director) (she/her) is thrilled to work on Anything Goes as her first SDT show. She is a rising
senior Musical Theatre major at CUA with a minor in Performing Arts Management. Recently,
she worked as the Assistant Stage Manager for Keegan Theatre's production of The Minutes.
This fall, she is Assistant Directing CUA's production of The Addams Family. Thank
you to the cast, crew, intern cohort, and production team for this incredible experience.
Molly Ario (Assistant Production Manager) is so hyped to be back at SDT for another summer! Last year they were assistant stage
manager for Young Frankenstein. Molly would like to thank their cats, Nala and Spork,
for attempting to get along with each other.
Madison Lyons (Assistant Director) has loved being the Assistant Director for SDT’s Into The Woods! This is her second
summer with Summer Dinner Theatre, last summer she the Stage Manager for Young Frankenstein.
So far in 2026, Madison has directed a scene for Montgomery College’s 2026 Directing
Scenes Festival, assistant stage managed Next Stop’s Guards at the Taj, and was the
Stage Manager for MC’s The Lightning Thief! She also works at the Performing Arts
Center as House Management. Other productions she’s worked on include: MC’s Grease
(ASM, 2025), MC’s The Liar (ASM, 2024), The Bold, The Young and The Murdered (Kaitlyn,
2024). Madison is incredibly appreciative for all the opportunities she has been presented
in the theatre world!
Liz Ayres Brown (Company Manager) (they/she) is a rising senior at The American University studying Musical Theatre
& Creative Writing. This fall, she will be dramaturg for the collegiate premiere of
For Better or For Worse and performing in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (Sibella).
They are the class of 2027 representative on AU’s Artistic Committee, and are a student
event manager for the annual 1440 Play Festival. Previous credits include Twelfth
Night (Feste/Antonio) at LAMDA, and I Lay Awake (Bec), 9 to 5 (Detective, Judy u/s),
Dance Nation (Dramaturg), In Pieces (Ensemble), Spring Awakening (Onstage Swing) at
AU. Liz would like to thank Grace and Roberta for being the best mentors, and for
SDT for welcoming her with open arms!
Alexandra Monell (Assistant Choreographer) (she/her) is a senior Dance major at University of Maryland. Performance Credits:

Dancer), BMHS, Sankofa Production (Ensemble Dancer).
Georgia Parry (Production Stage Manager) She is a rising Junior at Pace University and she is getting her BFA in Production
Design for Stage and Screen.This is her second summer with Summer Dinner Theatre previously
ASMing Something Rotten (2023). She has previously lighting designed with the Pace
commercial dance program where she designed for Brian Letendre and Lisa LaTouche.

Kamilla Rivera-Leyden (Costume Intern) (she/her) is a recent Art and Design graduate from CUA. As her senior thesis project,
she was the Co-Costume Designer for a club run production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
She also created props and painted sets for the musical. She would like to thank the
team of SDT for taking her on and her family and friends for their constant support.
Cassie Cornelius (Costume Intern) (they/them) is the Anything Goes Costume Intern, currently attending the University
of Maryland for Theater. This is Cassie's first time working with SDT. They would
like to thank Audrey for all of their support this summer <3
Caroline Evans (Lighting Intern) (she/her) is very excited to be a part of team lighting for Summer Dinner Theatre!
She has loved the experience of working with the cast and crew to bring these stories
to life. Caroline would like to thank her mentor Lynn Joslin for guiding her through
this process and sharing her snacks. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Fiona Bradford is a tech member and a 4th year at University of Cincinnati. She’d like to thank all her friends for always making theatre so exciting and her family for always supporting her.
Miriam Mansfield is a high schooler currently attending Quince Orchard High School. She is very excited
to be part of such an esteemed program and has learned a lot from everyone involved.

Chris Yeung (Assistant Stage Manager) (He/Him) He's an Information Science undergrad at UMD and would like to thank the
program for being so welcoming and accommodating and for the support of his friends
and family.
Jules Allen (Any/All) is an actress and student at the University of Toronto Mississauga conservatory.

Rex Aranguren Castillo
Benjamin Thompson This is Ben's first summer with Montgomery College's summer dinner theater. He is
a student at Towson University, and is a member of and frequent collaborator with
the Towson club "Actors Anonymous" during the course of the school year, acting as
something of an unofficial prop master for some of the recent productions such as
Tooth and Tail and Freaky Friday. Ben is traditionally an actor so it is exciting
to be in a more behind the scenes role this summer.
Aster Fredly
Charlie Costa (Assistant Stage Manager) is a 2nd year MC student who is in the tech cohort as well
as the Assistant Stage Manager for Anything Goes. This is his second SDT cycle he
is grateful for the opportunity to continue to develop his craft within theater. He
would like to thank his family for tolerating the long hours and the MC Theater staff
for allowing him to do this program so he can transfer to North Dakota State University
in the fall and show how well MC and SDT develop students and future professionals.
Yusuf Beyna Hello, my name is Yusuf. I am an aspiring young professional writer eager to steadily
increase my skills. I'm enthused to be working on Summer Day Theater. I'd like to
thank my friends who got me into this mess.
Rosie Ventura is in tech and this is her third show in tech and has been in 1 show as an actress
she is super excited to see how the show plays out.
Evelyn Calvo (She/her) This is her first year doing tech and she is super excited to be here this
summer and to learn new things. She'd like to thank her family for all of their support.
Tom Spanswick This is Tom Spanswick's first show with SDT! Previous shows they worked on as Tech
Crew at MC during the academic year include: The Liar, POTUS, and Grease. They'd like
to thank their friends and family for supporting them.
Tracy Lynn Olivera is a critically acclaimed actor, singer, and director in the DC area, as well as an Adjunct Professor at both Catholic University and American University. She appeared on Broadway in the 2009 Revival of Ragtime at the Neil Simon Theatre, and has performed in the area at Ford’s Theatre, Arena Stage, Signature Theatre, Olney Theatre, and Studio Theatre, among others. She is a two time recipient of Helen Hayes Awards for her portrayal of Lizzie Curry in 110 in the Shade at Ford’s Theatre, and Charlotte Malcom in A Little Night Music at Signature Theatre, respectively. Tracy is the former Director of the Performance Institute at Levine School of Music. She has directed at Rorschach Theatre (Toxic Avenger) Arena Stage’sKogod Cradle (Freaky Friday, 1776), and has been a prominent faculty member at Signature Theatre’s Overtures theatre intensive since 2010. She appears on the original cast recording of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!, and her own solo album, Because, was released in 2014. Tracy lives in Columbia, MD, with her husband and two children.
Elisa Rosman is delighted to be back at SDT, where she previously music directed The Prom. Her

Graham Lazorchak is thrilled to be finally be making the journey into the woods, a journey long anticipated
since his days of singing “Your Fault” for hours on end with his sister in the car.
An avid composer, his work has been performed by groups such as the International
Contemporary Ensemble, the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, and Metropolis Ensemble, as
well as by members of Yarn/Wire, TAK Ensemble, and Ensemble Dal Niente. His voice
can be heard on Cece Bell’s “Animal Albums from A to Z.” Lazorchak received a BM and
a BA from Oberlin College and Conservatory where he studied composition under Stephen
Hartke, percussion performance under Ross Karre, and Stephen Sondheim under Jamie
O’Leary. His technical work has been presented in Frontiers in Computer Science and
New Interfaces for Musical Expression. Many thanks to Elisa and Tracy for their trust,

Grayson Moreno (Associate Sound Designer) is thrilled to work with Montgomery College for the first

Roberta Gasbarre (Artistic Director) is thrilled to be returning to Montgomery College and Summer
Dinner Theatre, adding to her 10+ previous years as an adjunct faculty, choreographer,
and director. SDT credits include The Wiz, Evita, West Side Story, Cabaret, Brigadoon,
Bye Bye Birdie, and Oklahoma. Well-known for her work with young professionals and
promoting diverse voices in Washington theatre, Roberta has directed or choreographed
at companies such as The Shakespeare Theater, the Kennedy Center, Woolly Mammoth,
Studio Theatre, Round House, Arena Stage’s acclaimed outreach Living Stage, Wolftrap
Farm Park for the Arts, and Washington Jewish Theatre. Roberta has taught and directed
at Catholic University, George Washington University, American University, UMD Baltimore,
Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Arts, Montgomery College/Rockville, University of Poznan
in Poland, and with Kaiser Permanente’s AIDS/youth health education initiative. Helen
Hayes Awards: Quilters, and Dance Against Darkness. From 1999-2022 Roberta served
as a museum theatre specialist for the Smithsonian Institution. She is the longstanding
Artistic Director of the Washington Revels.

Joe Tracz (Author) is a writer whose work has been seen on Broadway in Be More Chill (with Joe Iconis) and The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical (with Rob Rokicki; Drama Desk nominee for Outstanding Book). Other credits include the musical Poster Boy (with Craig Carnelia, Williamstown Theatre Festival). TV: Netflix’s Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (Peabody Award recipient; Emmy, Humanitas Prize, and WGA Award nominee) and Dash & Lily, which premiered on Netflix in 2020.
Joe is an alumnus of the Ars Nova Play Group and a former Playwrights Realm writing fellow. He has an BA from Kalamazoo College and an MFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Tracz was also writer, executive producer and co-showrunner on Netflix’s One Piece and writer on the Disney+ Original series Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Rob Rokicki (Composer) is a composer and lyricist whose work has been recognized worldwide and nominated for Drama Desk, Lortel and Off-Broadway Alliance awards. Recently signed with Kobalt music, Rokicki is best known for his music and lyrics in the critically acclaimed Broadway show The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical for Theatreworks USA (book by Joe Tracz). The adaptation played off-Broadway in 2017 and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical before launching a national tour across North America 2018-2019. It made its acclaimed West End premiere in 2024.
Punk Rock Girl!, a musical he orchestrated and co-arranged with collaborator and friend Joe Iconis, premiered at the Argyle Theater in New York in 2021 and is available to license through Concord Theatricals. His graphic novel/musical Monstersongs has enjoyed international productions in the UK and Japan, and is also available to license from Concord. The show received a World Premiere Recording from Broadway Records, was part of the prestigious NAMT festival in 2018, and is being developed as a virtual reality experience. His immersive musical about escaping a cult, Experience Marianas, was developed at CAP21/Molloy College and was a semi-finalist for the O’Neill National Musical Theatre Conference. He wrote the music and lyrics for Uni the Unicorn, commissioned by Bay Area Children’s Theater. He was one of five writing teams involved with the streaming musical Breathe, by book writers Jodi Picoult and Timothy Allen McDonald. The piece was selected for the Library of Congress. He collaborated with writer Anna K. Jacobs for a new movie musical for the University of Nebraska, entitled The Real Gemma Jordan.
Other Projects: Love, NY (with Mike Ruby), winner of the American Harmony Award and presented at New World Stages, Curtain Call and Oklahoma University; The Greatest Ten-Minute Musical, Ever! (with Timothy Allen McDonald) commissioned by the Kennedy Center; 11:11 (selected for The Pitch and LiveRead at USC); 20 to Life (American University); Strange Tails (West Village MT Festival winner; NAMT grant recipient Ars Nova’s ANT fest); Martha and Me (NY Fringe); and Samson’s Fire (The Cell Theater). He has scored the films Gingerbread House (New York Film Academy) and Dividends (New York Shorts International Film Festival).
Rob’s work, which “lives at the perfect intersection of musical theatre and radio rock,” is regularly featured in cabarets and concerts throughout the world. He is a two-time Larson Award finalist, alum of the BMI writing workshop and member of the Dramatists Guild. He holds a BFA and BA from the University of Michigan. Catherine just finished preforming Jack and the Beanstalk (Jack) at the Vienna Theatre Company for Young Audiences. Katlynn Enama (Silena/Ensemble) is very excited to be a part of this year’s production of The Lightning Thief. She has been in various other productions such as Beauty & the Beast and The Wizard of Oz. Joanna Fishell (Thalia, Nancy Bobafit, Medusa/ Percy Jackson Understudy) is beyond excited to be part of The Lightning Thief. Joanna's previous experience at MC includes working behind scenes as crew for Footloose, Young Frankenstein, Grease, and The Visit. She danced with the MC Dance Company in spring 2025. Having been a Fly Operator in MC’s production of Grease in the spring of 2025, followed up by run crew for both Summer Dinner Theater shows, Light Board Operator for the Fall ‘25 production of Failure: A Love Story and Sound Board Operator for the other Fall ‘25 production of And So Ad Infinitum. Lala Darboe (Paint Crew) is a first-year student at Montgomery College majoring in psychology. She enjoyed working in the production of Failure: A Love Story which led her to continue working alongside both crew and cast members in The Lightning Thief musical. She hopes that integrating her interest in psychology and theatre will give her a more nuanced understanding of both subjects. Sherri Felton (Followspot Operator/Paint Crew) is currently earning her AA in Performing Arts Production. She was born and raised in Los Angeles. She earned a BFA in Stage Management from the University of Southern California and worked as a performing arts technician and as creative staff in LA, NYC, London and multiple locations in Mexico. After getting married and choosing to be a stay-at-home mom, she has returned to stagecraft classes and theatre. She is grateful to learn from and beside the next generation of theatre creatives. They were previously a member of the crew for Gaithersburg High School between 2021-2023, and started at Montgomery College during this Fall working as the Sound Board Operator on Failure: A Love Story, and Assistant Stage Manager during And So Ad Infinitum. Soren Kim Plank (Light Board Operator) is proud to be operating the Light Board for the first time in The Lightning Thief. Their previous experience at MC includes Stage Manager for Failure: A Love Story (2025), Assistant Stage Managing for “POTUS” (2024), and follow spotting and A2ing for “Grease” (2025). They also worked in the Tech Cohort for MC Summer Dinner Theater as an A2 in “Young Frankenstein” (2025) and as Assistant Stage Manager for “Footloose” (2025). Student projects include Lighting Design for and Acting in MC’s Directing Class Scenes in Spring 2025. They also wrote and directed a short film in 2023. Marci Shegogue (Music Director) has been part of the Maryland arts scene for over 40 years, with a passion for music directing, mentorship and community. As Managing Director of The Free Theatre, a tuition-free teen theatre company, she collaborates with students in creating musical theatre by their own design and provides mentorship opportunities in theatre arts. Marci has served as Music Director and Collaborative Accompanist for hundreds of professional, community and educational theatre productions and projects in the D.C. area including Univ of MD, American University, Montgomery College, Imagination Stage, Teen Angel Project, the KC American College Theatre Festival, Montgomery County Public Schools, Free Range Humans, Endangered Species Project, Musical Theatre Center, Levine School of Music, Rockville Musical Theatre and Damascus Theatre Company. Education: University of Maryland College Park. Continuing education: Goodspeed Opera House Music Director Intensive, Broadway Teaching Group workshops, and many mentorships with DMV and NYC artists. Sarah Laughland (Choreographer) is an educator, choreographer, and performer. She’s taught and choreographed at institutions across the region, including Theatre Lab, Imagination Stage, The Washington School of Ballet, Levine School of Music, Fairfax Fine Arts Academy, Barter Theatre, Opera Lafayette, Frederick Fine Arts Academy, and Emory & Henry College. She is a former Resident Acting Company member at Barter Theatre (Abingdon, VA from 2014-2019).She’s performed at Theater J, Imagination Stage, Texas Shakespeare Festival, Southern Appalachian Repertory Company, Momentum Dance Theatre, The Kennedy Center, and Dollywood, among others. She’s a member of the dance company chitra.MOVES, and has danced locally with the RAMdance Collective, through the Atlas Intersections Festival, Dance Canvas, and the Transformations Festivals. She currently teaches regular classes for youth & adults at Unity Dance & Movement (Bethesda, MD), and The Washington School of Ballet.
R. Scott Hengen (Scenic Designer/Production Coordinator) earned a MFA in Theatre with an emphasis in Scenic Design from the University of Maryland, College Park. Before earning the MFA, he taught technical theatre at Suitland High School, the Prince George’s County Magnet High School for the Performing Arts. He earned a BS in Secondary Education and a BA in Theatre with a minor in Shakespeare from Penn State University. Scott serves as Production Coordinator and archivist for the Theatre Department at Montgomery College. He designs scenery, properties, and projections for MC productions and maintains the web presence for Theatre and Dance of the Performing Arts Department. He has created scenic designs professionally for Catholic University (City of Angels), Quotidian Theatre (Maytag Virgin), Carroll Community College (Into the Woods), Forum Theatre/Next Stop Theatre (Gidion’s Knot). He is also a member of the Maryland Area Community College Performing Arts Collective (MACCPAC), the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE), and USITT – Chesapeake Section.
Lynn Joslin (Lighting Design) is thrilled to be in her 21st year at Montgomery College! For Creative Cauldron: On Air (Helen Hayes Nomination) Ichabod, Into The Woods, Nevermore and Monsters of the Villa Diodati. Other recent designs include Swan Lake with The Maryland Youth Ballet, Cinderella with Metropolitan Ballet Theatre and Spamalot and Rocky with Toby’s Dinner theatre. She has also worked with the Kennedy Center’s Youth and Family programming, the Washington Opera’s education department, ArtsCentric, Nextstop Theatre, Theatre J, Adventure Theatre,Washington Shakespeare Company, and the 1996 Olympic Arts Festival. Jillian Skara (Costume Designer) is delighted to be returning to MC after serving as the Costume Shop Manager for SDT 2025 (Young Frankenstein, Footloose). She earned a B.A. in Musical Theatre from American University, where she then designed Godspell, Zoey’s Perfect Wedding and A Game of Love and Chance. As a student at AU, she was the assistant designer and cast member for Head Over Heels (Pamela) and Henri IV pt 1 (Lady Mortimer). She was also the Costume Coordinator for Overture 2023, and a Greenberg Costume Shop staff member for three years. Local credits include wardrobe crew for Julius X at Folger Theatre, assistant costume designer for Sleeping Giant at Rorschach Theatre, and stitcher on Head Over Heels at Constellation Theatre. Justin Schmitz (Sound Designer) is grateful to be designing The Lightning Thief. Justin is a proud member of USA 829, TSDCA, and USITT. Kat Eisenberg (Props Designer) is an artist living in the DMV who specializes in painting, props, and fabrication, as well props/set design for short films. She has previously worked on The Washington Revels Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, and the following Montgomery College productions: The Prom, Something Rotten, Mojada (Puppet Designer), Cabaret, In the Heights, The Liar, P.O.T.U.S. Thanks to the world’s most supportive parents!
Roger Bridges (Master Carpenter) has been a full-time staff member at Montgomery College since 2009. Scenic designs at MC include The Burn, The Complete Female Stage Beauty, Avenue Q, Big Love, The Water Engine, and Honk! He worked as a carpenter for the Shakespeare Theatre Company (2007–2009) in Washington DC. Prior to that he was the Technical Director at Raleigh Little Theatre (2002–2007) in Raleigh, NC, where he also designed scenery for 11 shows. Roger is a member of USITT and AFSCME.
Lauren Evans (Production Technician) Starting in 2004 as a student with the Summer Dinner Theatre program, Lauren is honored to be back working with the incredible talent in the MC Theatre Department. For the past nineteen years, she has been technical director, both for theatres and event companies in addition to freelancing as a scenic artist, carpenter/fabricator, and stage manager throughout the DMV. She could not be prouder of the students who have worked on this production of The Lightning Thief and hopes you will enjoy the show. Break a leg!
Jak Lunsford (Scenic Artist) is a multidisciplinary artist and graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park where they studied Studio Art and Creative Placemaking. Jak is inspired by exploring different mediums and their longevity, working fluidly across 2D, 3D, and everything in between. Their practice is concept-driven, allowing the idea of each work to guide the choice of materials, which have included paint, vinyl wrap, metals, and clay. Jak’s murals can be found throughout the DMV, including College Park, Washington, DC, Burtonsville, and Wheaton. In addition to their public art, Jak has taught mural classes, led painting workshops, and taught a wide variety of art classes for students of all ages. They also work as a face painter, muralist, and clay studio manager. Jak has painted multiple sets for Gala Hispanic Theatre in DC and Montgomery College Rockville.
Tyler Herman (Intimacy Coordinator) is an actor and director, born and raised in Silver Spring. In addition to teaching at MC, he is the Drama Director at Walt Whitman High School. Tyler is a founding member of Faction of Fools Theatre Company, where he trained in Commedia dell'Arte and acted in over twenty productions. As an actor he has been seen recently at Ford's Theatre, The Kennedy Center, and Theater J. Recent directing projects include The Fisherman And His Wife (Adventure Theatre -MTC), The Good Devil (Avant Bard), and Office of the Speaker (Capital Fringe, Winner Best Drama). Sasha Olinick (Dialect Consultant) DC-based Actor and Teaching Artist. His local credits include Arena Stage, the Kennedy Center, Round House Theatre, Studio Theatre, Theater J, 1st Stage, Olney Theatre, Rep Stage, MetroStage, Maryland Shakespeare Festival, Imagination Stage, WSC Avant Bard, Forum Theatre, and Spooky Action Theatre. Regional credits include American Shakespeare Center, Trinity Rep, Ocean State Lyric Opera, Vermont Stage and the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse. Sasha was nominated for Best Actor (Helen Hayes) for his appearance as Albert Einstein in Secrets of the Universe with The Hub Theatre in 2018 and for Best Supporting Actor for his appearance as Reb Saunders in The Chosen with 1st Stage in 2023. Sasha was part of the cast that won the Helen Hayes award for best Ensemble for Fly By Night at 1st Stage in 2018. For his appearance as Mozart in Amadeus at Round House Theatre, he was recognized with the 2011 DC Theatre Scene Audience Choice Award for Favorite Resident Play: for his role as Mr. Toad in Wind In the Willows at Imagination Stage, he received the 2011 DC Theatre Scene Audience Choice Award for Favorite Actor in a Family Production. He has taught acting to students of all ages through his work with the Educational Theatre Company and as an adjunct faculty member (since 2004) at Montgomery College, where he has also directed productions of The Tempest, Twelfth Night, The Crucible, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, and Speech and Debate as well as assistant directing productions of Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Sasha has also been a faculty member at the National Conservatory of Dramatic of Art since 2009. He has an MFA in Acting from Rhode Island College/Trinity Rep Conservatory, a BA in American Civilization from Brown University and is a member of Actors Equity
Laura Esti-Miller (Literary Consultant) is a dramaturg, writer, director, literary manager, and educator to students from preschool through college. She teaches in both the Performing Arts and English Departments at Montgomery College and has taught at Catholic University, George Mason University, Northern Virginia Community College, and the University of Mary Washington.
Favorite dramaturgical efforts include programming seven seasons with Forum Theatre, five seasons with 1st Stage, and five seasons with new play development organization The Inkwell. Select collaborative pieces include a dance-theatre production adapted from Mark Twain’s Joan of Arc with London-founded interdisciplinary company Urban Garden Performing Arts, and Helen Hayes Award-winning The Trojan Women Project with Brave Spirits Theatre. Laura is the former Creative Development Director of off-Broadway company Electric Pear Productions, and has worked with The Public Theater, The Kennedy Center, and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. She has a BA from James Madison University and an MFA from Brooklyn College.
