At Montgomery College, we believe in supporting student wellness in every way possible. Our Stay Smart Kits are designed to provide you with essential safer sex supplies in a completely discreet, judgment-free manner—because your health and well-being matter.
What Are Stay Smart Kits?
Stay Smart Kits are free safer sex kits available to Montgomery College students. Each kit contains a variety of items to help you make informed and healthy choices while ensuring privacy and ease of access. Whether you need protection, hygiene essentials, or access to educational resources, our kits have you covered.
OTC Contraception Information Sessions
Know Before You Need It
Join us for five short, focused Zoom sessions designed to help you understand your over-the-counter contraception options at Montgomery College.
In just 15-30 minutes, we’ll cover:
- Plan B vs. Opill — what’s the difference?
- How emergency contraception works
- Privacy & discreet access (mail or campus pickup)
- Planning ahead
- Real-life scenarios and common questions

Listening Sessions are:

- 4 regular condoms (non-latex condoms are available upon request through the online form due to limited supply)
- 2 flavored condoms (Use ONLY for oral sex: do not use for anal or vaginal sex)

Need free sexual health supplies but can’t make it to campus? We’ve got you covered.
Montgomery College now offers discreet, no-cost Stay Smart Kit delivery by mail for currently enrolled students. You can choose to receive a full kit or select only the items you need.
Kits are mailed in plain, unmarked packaging to protect your privacy.

How to Get a Kit?
Stay Smart Kits are available at the following locations. There is no need to ask—just take one! Our goal is to ensure easy access while maintaining your privacy.
- Rockville:
- Student Wellness Center (SV001)
- The Spiffy Closet (SV316)
- Germantown:
- Counseling & Advising (SA250)
- Office of Student Life (SA 113)
- Restrooms of the SA building
- Takoma Park/Silver Spring (TPSS):
- Student Life on the 2nd floor of the ST building
- ST 306 near the food pantry
- Designated student wellness spaces
- East County Education Center (ECEC): in the Vending Lounge
NEW: You can now request a Stay Smart Kit—or specific items—by mail using our online order form. This is a discreet option for students who prefer not to pick up a kit in person. Details and the request form new window are above on this page.
Discreet Options Available
Our kits are packaged in plain 6" x 9" brown envelopes for discretion. If you require a different fit, look for kits marked with a small black dot, which discreetly indicate an alternative size option.

Carafem new window – Abortion and Sexual Healthcare
carafem is a national non-profit providing abortion and sexual healthcare via telehealth and at its Friendship Heights health center in Washington, DC.
Services include:
- In-person procedural and medication abortion
- Telehealth medication abortion and abortion pills by mail
- STI testing and treatment
- Ultrasounds and birth control services
- Abortion follow-up care (even if abortion was not through carafem)
- 24/7 abortion support via text with their virtual assistant, Cara
Why carafem may work well for MC students:
- Easy transportation: Friendship Heights center is located on the Metro Red Line and multiple bus routes.
- Privacy: Discreet location in a medical office building with minimal to no protesting.
- Language access: Translation available in Spanish, Amharic, ASL, and more.
- Financial help: Abortion fund support available; most students without salaried income will qualify.
- Coverage: Maryland Medicaid fully covers abortion services.
Transportation from MC campuses to Friendship Heights:
- Rockville Campus → ~45 minutes (bus to Rockville Metro, then Red Line)
- Germantown Campus → ~1 hour (bus to Shady Grove Metro, then Red Line)
