The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Foundation Scholarship new window
Applications will be accepted from December 1, 2025 through March 27, 2026
To qualify for The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Undergraduate Scholarship Program
in Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, applicants must:
- Be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents, and
- Be enrolled at one of the following institutions:
University of Maryland
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech)
University of Virginia
Northern Virginia Community College
Montgomery College
Virginia Commonwealth University
University of the District of Columbia
Towson University (New)
James Madison University (New)
Herb Block Foundation Scholarships new window
Deadlines: June 1 for fall semester and November 10 for spring semester
Established in 2005, The Herb Block Scholarship provides financial assistance to high
school graduates, community college students, and adult learners who wish to continue
their studies at Washington, D.C. area community colleges.
LA Tutors 123 Innovation in Education Scholarship new window
Deadline: 20th of each month
Entrants must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives
of others (e.g., a website, series of blogs, an app, fundraising event, etc.) and
must submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting
documentation. Entrants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or the equivalent) and
be a citizen of, permanent resident of, or hold a valid student visa in the United
States or Canada.

Eligibility:
The program is open to legal residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. who are at least 18 years old. Between December 2024 and August 2025, they must graduate with an associate’s degree in business or technology from a community college, have a minimum 3.3 GPA and intend to attend a four-year college or university beginning in fall 2025.

Who can apply:
- Recipient must be a resident of Maryland.
- Recipient must be a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States.
- Recipient must be seeking a degree in a nursing, medical, or related healthcare field.
- Full-time recipients must maintain a minimum of 12 credit hours per term for undergraduate students and nine credit hours per term for graduate students. Part-time recipients must be working a minimum of 20 hours.
Commissioners' Engineering Scholarship Program new window
Deadline: Sunday March 15, 2026
To qualify, students must:
* Submit an application by Sunday, March 15, 2026
* Provide proof of permanent residency in WSSC Water’s service district
* Be enrolled* full-time in a degree program at an accredited college or
university that leads to an engineering degree in one of the following areas:
Civil engineering (i.e., environmental, sanitary, structural, geotechnical,
water resources, fire protection, transportation, project management, construction
management)
Electrical engineering
Material science and engineering
Chemical engineering
Mechanical engineering
Computer science/engineering
*High school seniors who have been accepted into such a program are eligible; proof
of acceptance/enrollment must accompany application materials.
FAPAC DIStinguished public service scholarship new window

ELIGIBILITY
- Open to all college students with U. S. citizenship
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States
- Degree-seeking students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Not open to previous scholarship winners, past or current FAPAC Officers or their children, current Federal or State employees.
2026 SECU MD Foundation scholarship program new window
Deadline: May 1, 2026
To qualify for the award, you must be:
- A Maryland resident
- A SECU member in good standing (joining is easy in about five minutes)
- A current Maryland community college student who is transferring to a public Maryland college/university, or who has done so in the past 18 months
- Attending a public Maryland college/university for the 2026-27 academic year.
